PPEF has supported the “Renewable Energy” curriculum at the Portsmouth High School by awarding a grant for $2911 to high school teacher Jean-Paul Arsenault for his “Fries to Fuel: Biodiesel in the Classroom”. The students will receive hands on instruction turning used fryolater oil into usable biodiesel. A field trip to Newport Biodiesel will enhance this experience.
This grant has been named the “Jay Humphrey” memorial grant after a founding member of the PPEF Board of Directors and one of our most visionary members. This grant is therefore appropriately named for him.
